Inclusive Creative Dance

Description

These creative dance classes are centered on providing children with a fun and educational experience while exploring body and spatial awareness. The sessions introduce kids to basic concepts of dance, improvisation and dance-making using movement explorations, props, music and games. It aids children in their continuous development of motor skills, coordination, strength, and flexibility and offers them the opportunity to engage and create dances with others to strengthen social skills. The classes are taught by Sandra Paola López Ramírez (Ed.M., M.F.A.), Co-Founder and Director of the Institute for Improvisation and Social Action (ImprovISA), dance faculty at The University of Texas at El Paso, and avid advocate for inclusive and creative dance practices for over 10 years.
In addition, each session counts with 4-7 trained teaching assistants that provide children with more one-on-one instruction. The last day of class for each session is always open to family and friends to witness how these classes are run.
